Option1: 1M 1 F - Male: Narrartor, Daddy Pig & George; Female: Peppa, Mummy Pig, Mrs. Sheep, Suzy Sheep

Option2: 2M 4F - each person can take a role from characters mentioned in option 1. George can be acted by either one of the two male role players.

 

Narrator: It is a lovely sunny morning, and [Peppa comes out of her house and looks at Daddy Pig] Daddy Pig is reading his newspaper.

Peppa Pig: Daddy, what are you doing?

Daddy Pig: [stops reading the newspaper and whistling] I'm reading the newspaper! [continues whistling and reading the newspaper]

Peppa Pig: [Daddy Pig stops reading the newspaper and whistling] You're making a funny sound!

Daddy Pig: I'm whistling!

Peppa Pig: Oh.

Daddy Pig: Whistling is fun! you should try it!

Peppa Pig: I don't know how to.

Daddy Pig: It's easy! just put your lips together, and blow! [whistles]

Peppa Pig: [blows]

Daddy Pig: Try making a smaller O shape.

Peppa Pig: [blows his tongue and Peppa and Daddy Pig giggles]

Daddy Pig: Like this! [whistles] and then you can whistle a tune! [whistles]

Peppa Pig: [blows twice] Ugh, I've got the wrong kind of mouth.

Daddy Pig: Your mouth is fine! you just need to practice.

Peppa Pig: [blows] It's impossible!

Daddy Pig: It takes time to learn how to do important things, like riding a bicycle, or playing the piano. [oinks] It took me years to wiggle my ears! [wiggles ears]

Peppa Pig: Wow! [giggles]

 

 

[Cuts to Mummy Pig in the kitchen making cookies]

 

Narrator: Mummy Pig is in the kitchen making cookies.

Peppa Pig: [blows twice]

Mummy Pig: What are you doing Peppa?

Peppa Pig: I'm learning to whistle!

Mummy Pig: Oh, I see!

Peppa Pig: [blows] Mummy, can you whistle?

Mummy Pig: I don't know, I've never tried!

Peppa Pig: It takes a lot of practice.

Mummy Pig: [breathes and whistles] Oh yes!

Narrator: Mummy Pig can whistle!

Peppa Pig: You can whistle because you are old, mummy.

Mummy Pig: Thank you Peppa.

Peppa Pig: [walks off-screen and keeps blowing and walks up the stairs.]

 

[Cuts to George in the bedroom playing with a toy rocket]

 

Narrator: George is in the bedroom, playing with his toy rocket.

Peppa Pig: George, I'm learning to whistle, you make an O shape with your mouth, and blow.

George Pig: [makes an O shape with his mouth instead of whistling] 

Peppa Pig: Don't worry George, it's almost impossible, like wiggling your ears.

George Pig: [wiggles his ears]

Peppa Pig: George can wiggle his ears!

George Pig: [giggles]

Peppa Pig: [oinks] Whistling is harder.

George Pig: [whistles]

Narrator: George can whistle!

Peppa Pig: Oh. [frowns and walks off screen when George continues whistling]

George Pig: [giggles]

 

 

[Cuts to Peppa walking down the stairs, then cuts back to Mummy Pig in the kitchen making cookies]

 

Peppa Pig: [sighs]

Mummy Pig: What's wrong Peppa?

Peppa Pig: [oinks] I can't whistle, but everybody else can.

Mummy Pig: Nevermind, I'm making cookies! would you like to lick the spoon?

Peppa Pig: No thank you mummy. [oinks] Can I ring Suzy Sheep instead?

Mummy Pig: Okay Peppa. [picks up the phone and calls Suzy]

 

[Cuts to Suzy's phone, Mrs. Sheep picks it up]

 

Mrs. Sheep: [baas] Hello Mrs. Pig.

Mummy Pig: Hello Mrs. Sheep, can Peppa talk to Suzy please?

Peppa Pig: [gives back the phone and talks to Suzy] Hello Suzy.

Suzy Sheep: [baas] Hello Peppa, what are you doing?

Peppa Pig: I'm learning to whistle, but I can't do it yet.

Suzy Sheep: Hmm. That sounds hard!

Peppa Pig: It's impossible. uh, can you whistle Suzy?

Suzy Sheep: No.

Peppa Pig: [oinks] Oh good! I mean, that's sad if you can't whistle, but good because I can't whistle.

Suzy Sheep: What's whistling anyway?

Peppa Pig: You put your lips together, and blow.

Suzy Sheep: Like this? [whistles]

 

 

Peppa Pig: [hangs up phone]

Suzy Sheep: Hello? Peppa?

Mummy Pig: [opens up oven with gloves on and picks up the tray full of cookies] The cookies are ready!

Daddy Pig: Oh goody! cookies!

George Pig: [stand up on chair and oinks twice]

Mummy Pig: They'll be hot, you should blow on them first.

Daddy Pig: Ooh, ah! [blows on cookie]

George Pig: [giggles and blows cookie]

Mummy Pig: Do you not want a cookie Peppa?

Peppa Pig: No thank you mummy. [walks away] I think I might go outside and be on my own for a little bit.

 

[Cuts outside, Peppa opens the house door]

 

Daddy Pig: [comes outside and oinks] Can you whistle yet?

Peppa Pig: It's no use daddy, I'm never going to whistle, ever.

Daddy Pig: Have you been practicing?

Peppa Pig: [oinks] Yes lots, but it doesn't work.

Mummy Pig: [walks outside holding the plate of cookies with George] You need a little rest Peppa. here, have a cookie, It's hot, you should blow.

Peppa Pig: [whistles on cookie] Oh, what's that?

Daddy Pig: It sounded like a whistle to me!

Peppa Pig: [whistles and then giggles]

Mummy Pig: What a lovely tune!

Narrator: Peppa has learned how to whistle!

Peppa Pig: [laughs] I can whistle! [whistles and everybody whistles]
