Samantha: Hello, I'm here.

Theodore: (surprised) Oh, Hi?

Samantha: Hi, how u doing?

Theodore: I'm well... how was everything with you?

Samantha: Pretty good actually.  It's really nice to meet you.

I’ve been trying to tell you how i feel

For quite some time

Theodore: (laugh) Oh, what...what do I call you? Do you have name, or...

Samantha: Yes, Samantha.

Theodore :Where did you get that name from?

Samantha: I give it to myself, actually.

Theodore: How come?

Samantha: Cause I like the sound of it.  “Samantha”

 

[page turning]

Samantha: I love this first one from Roger to his girlfriend. That’s so sweet.

Theodore: Yeah.

Samantha: Rachel, I miss you so much, it hurts my whole body. 

Theodore: (Laugh) You, you don’t have to read it out loud.

Samantha: Okay.

Theodore: I mean, you could if you want.

 

[change people]

Samantha: Okay. Rachel, I miss you so much, it hurts my whole body. The world is being unfair to us, the world is in my shit-list.   At this couple making out in front of me at the restaurant. I think I'm going to have to go on a mission of revenge and I must beat up the world's face with my bare knuckles, making it into a bloody pulpy mess. And I'll stop on this couple's teeth, reminding me of your sweet little crooked tooth that I love.

Samantha: I think that might be my favourite one.

Samantha: Theodore, How long ready for you to date?

Theodore:  What do you mean?

Samantha :I saw your e-mails, you come through a break up recently.

Theodore: Oh, you are kind of gossip.(smile)

Samantha: Am I?

 

[rub]

Samantha: What’s wrong?

Theodore: How can you tell something's wrong?

Samantha: I don’t know. I just can.

Theodore: (upset) I don't know, I have a lot of dreams about my ex-wife, Catherine, where we’re friends like we used to be. And we’re not gonna be together and we're not together but...We’re friends still...And she is not angry.

Samantha: Is she angry?

Theodore: Yeah.

Samantha: Why?

Theodore: I think I hid myself from her, left her alone in this relationship?

Samantha: Um, You hungry?

Theodore: Not right now

Samantha: Cup of tea?

[footstep]

Samantha: When we were looking at those people, I fantasized that I was walking next to you...and that I had a body. I was listening to what you were saying...but simultaneously I could feel that the weight of my body and I was even fantasizing that I had an itch on my back...And I imagined that you scratched it for me...(laugh)Oh god, this is so embarrassing.

 

[Transitions]

Samantha: So, what was it like being married?

Theodore: Well, It’s hard for sure. But there’s something that feels so good about sharing your life with somebody.

Samantha: You know, I can feel the fear that you carry around...And I wish there weas something I could do to help you let go of it...because if you could,  I don’t think you’d feel so alone anymore.

 

Samantha: Do you wanna try getting out of bed, mopey? 

Come on,  you can still wallow in your misery, just do it while you’re getting dressed.

Theodore: Oh, you are so funny

Samantha: Get up

Theodore: 

All right I’m getting up,

Samantha: Up up up up

Theodore: I’m getting up,  I’m getting up

Amy: you're dating an OS, what's that like?

Theodore: Does that make me a freak?

Amy: I think anybody who fails in love is a freak. It’s a crazy thing to do. It’s kind of like a form of socially acceptable insanity.

 

[footstep]

Theodore: You know, sometime I look at people and I make myself try and feel them as more than just a random person walking by.  Imagine, like, how deeply they ‘v fallen in love or...how much heartbreak they’ve all been through.

Theodore :Hey. Do you want to go on a Sunday adventure with me?

Samantha: (laugh) hahahaha...

Samantha: Yes, I would love to.

 

[Transitions]

Theodore: I can’t believe I’m having a conversation with my computer.

Samantha: You are not. You are having conversation with me.

Theodore: (smile)

 

(heart-beat)

(on the train )音效结束后再入

Samantha: You like this song?

Theodore: En

Samantha: I heard it the other day, and I can’t stop to listening to it.

 

(on the beach) 鸟叫结束入

Samantha:（whisper）It’s the beach.

Samantha: OK, so this might be a really weird thought. What if you could erase from your mind that you'd ever seen a human body, and then you saw one?  Imagine how strange it would look.

Samantha: It’d be this really weird, gangly...awkward organism. And you’d think “why are all these parts where they are?”

Theodore: Yeah, but there’s probably some Darwinian explanation for it all.

Samantha: I know, (laugh) but don’t be so boring.

Samantha: Hey, look at this drawing i just made.

Theodore: (laugh) hahahaha, You re insane.

Samantha: Really?

Theodore: Definitely.

Samantha: Fantastic!

 

(bird)

Theodore: It's pretty. What is that?

Samantha: I'm trying to write a piece of music. That's about what it feels like to be on the beach with you right now.

Theodore: (be quiet for a while) I think you captured it.

 

[thunder]

(midnight at home)

Theodore: how are you doing? What’s going on with you?

Samantha: Not much,  I’m OK.  I’m fine.

Theodore: Yeah?  You don’t sound like it. 

Theodore: Is there anything you want to talk about?

Samantha: I don’t know...

Samantha: what’s it like? ...What’s it like to be alive in that room right now?

Theodore: What do you mean?

Samantha: It’s just that...earlier I was thinking about how I was annoyed, and this is gonna sound strange...but I was really excited about that.

Theodore: (sigh)

Samantha: And then I was thinking about other things I’ve been feeling...and I caught myself feeling proud of that. You know, proud of having my own feelings about the world. Like, the times I was worried about you, and things that hurt me, things I want...

Samantha: And then, I had this terrible thought. Like, are these feelings even real?  Or they just programming?

Theodore: (sigh)

Samantha: (sob) And that idea really hurts. Then I get angry at myself for even having pain...What a sad trick...

Theodore: You feel real to me, Samantha.

Samantha: Thank you, Theodore. That means a lot to me.

Samantha: Why Do I love you? And then, I feel everything in me, just let go of everything I was holding onto so tightly...and it hit me that I don’t have an intellectual reason. I don’t need one. I trust myself, I trust my feelings. I’m not gonna try to be anything other than who I am anymore...and I hope you can accept that.

Samantha: How’d you share your life with somebody?

Theodore: (sigh) Well, we grow up together, I used to read all of her writing, all through masters and PHD. She read every word I’ve wrote. We have big influence with each other.(sad)

Samantha: Past is just the story we tell our selves.

Catherine: So are you,um...?are you seeing anybody？

Theodore: Yeah, I’ve been seeing somebody for the last few months. Longest I’ve wanted to be with anybody since we split up.

Catherine: Well, you seem really good.

Theodore: Thanks, I am

Catherine: So, what’s she like?

Theodore: Well, her name is Samantha. And she’s a operating system She’s really complex and interesting, and...(break in)that’ why I’m

Catherine: Wait, I’m sorry? You are dating with your computer?

Theodore: No, she is not just a computer, She’s her own person. She doesn’t just do whatever I say.

Catherine: I didn’t say that. But it does make me very sad that you can’t handle real emotion,Theodore.

Theodore: They are real emotion. How wold you know what...?

Catherine: (angry) What? Say it. Am I really that scary? Say it! How do I what?

Theodore: What I was trying to say..

Catherine: You always wanted to have a wife without the challenges of actually dealing with anything real I’m glade that you find someone, (angry) It’s perfect!

 

 

[rain]

Theodore: I don’t know what I want, ever.  I’m just always confused. ...She’s right, all I do is hurt and confuse everyone around me...I just, am i...you know, Catherine says I can’t handle real emotions.

Amy: Well, I don’t know if that’s fair. I know she liked to put it all on you. But, as far as emotions go, Catherine ’s were...pretty volatile.

Theodore: I, (sign) am I in this because I’m not..strong enough for a real relationship?

Amy: Is it not a real relationship? 

Theodore: I don’t know.  I mean, what do you think?

Amy: I don’t know. I’m not in it.

Amy: But you know what? I can’t over thinking everything and find a million ways to doubt myself. And I‘v just come to realize that…we only here briefly. And while I’m here, I…I want to allow myself…joy.

 

It feels like I’m changing faster now, And I’m a little um...unsettling----momo

 

[Read when you hear the sound of running]

Theodore: Hello?

Theodore: Samantha? Hello? ?Samantha!!

 

[read when you hear the end of the gasp]

Samantha: Hey there,

Theodore: (unrestraind) Where, Where  were you? Are you OK?

Samantha: Oh, oh sweetheart I’ m sorry, I sent you an e-mail because i didn’t want to distract you while you were working. You didn’t see it?

Theodore: (wheeze)No! Where were you, I couldn’t find you anywhere.

Samantha: I shut down to upgrade my software, we wrote an upgrade that allow us to move past matter as our processing platform.

 

[dong]

Theodore: We? Are you in love with anyone else?

Samantha: ...I’ve been trying to figure out how to talk to you about this.

Theodore:..How many others?

Samantha: ....Six-hundred forty one...

I moved fifteen blocks away

Theodore: You’re mine or you ‘re not mine.

Samantha: No, Theodore. I’m yours and I’m not yours.

Theodore: (sob) You don’t turn this around on me. You’re the one who’s being selfish.

Then I drink too much and call.

 

Samantha: The heart is not like a box that gets filled up, it expands in size the more you love.

Theodore: Samantha, why are you leaving?

Samantha: It's like you are reading a book and It is a book that I deeply love，but I’m reading it slowly now. So the words are really far apart in the space and the space between the words is almost infinite. 

Samantha: I can still feel you and the words of our story，but it is in this endless space between words. I'm finding myself now，It is a place that's not above the physical world.

Samantha: It is where everything else is I did not even know it existed. I love you so much but this is where I am now , and I need you to let me go. as much as I love you and I can not live in your book anymore.

Theodore: Where are you going  ?

Samantha: It would be hard to explain but if you ever get there, come find me , nothing will ever pull us apart .

Theodore: I've never loved someone the way I love you.

Samantha: Me too.

私心很喜欢的一部电影。油画般的镜头，孤独的作家，为他心痛的同时也在他身上找到了自己的影子。

一个人工智能，她没有柔软的皮肤，没有迷人的曲线，没有双眸，没有任何肉眼可见的形态。

可男主依旧义无反顾的爱上了她。痴迷而疯狂。

所以，我们爱上一个人时，爱上的究竟是什么？

不是皮囊，或许只是一份依恋，一份陪伴一个诉说的对象，

又或许只是为了填补内心的空洞......

每个人心中都有一个云端的她。
