It's a long story about four girls who are coming of age during the aftermath of the civil war.

Meg: I want to get married.

Meg: Because I love him.

Meg: Just because my dreams are different than yours doesn't mean they're unimportant.

Bhaer: Because I'm not a writer? I don't have the gifts you have.

Jo: No, you don't. You will always be a critic and never an author. And the world will forget that you ever even lived.
