Emily: Mr. Walker, before we move on to the next section of the agreement, I just want to confirm something regarding the land title.
David: Of course. Go ahead.
Emily: According to the documents your office provided, the property is under Walker Holdings Pty Ltd, correct?
David: Yes, that's right. The company acquired the land in 2016.
Emily: And the title itself is clean? No caveats, easements, or unresolved encumbrances beyond what's already disclosed?
David: None that would affect the transfer. Our legal team ran a full search last month.
Emily: Good. My client will want a written confirmation from your solicitor as well, just to ensure the transfer proceeds smoothly.
David: That shouldn't be a problem. I'll have them send it through this afternoon.
Emily: Thank you. Also, regarding the settlement date....you mentioned you preferred early next quarter?
David: Yes. That timeline works best for our development schedule.
Emily: Understood. I'll draft the amended terms and circulate them for review.
David: You're very thorough, Ms. Lin.
Emily: I try to be.
David: Your attention to detail is impressive. Most people miss half the things you just checked.
Emily: It's part of the job.
David: Still. Not everyone does it that carefully.
Emily: I suppose I learned early that if you don't check things yourself, no one else will.
David: That's a useful mindset in business.
Emily: Yes.
David: How long have you been working in the property industry?
Emily: About twelve years now.
David: You must have started quite young.
Emily: I did.
David: You must have had strong support growing up.
Emily: My mother was very supportive.
David: Your mother?
Emily: Yes.
David: And your father?
Emily: …
David: Sorry, that might be too personal.
Emily: It's fine.
Emily: Mr. Walker… can I ask you something that isn't about work?
David: Sure. Go ahead.
Emily: Did you ever live in Forks about thirty-five years ago?
David: Yes. For a while. It should be recorded in my files as it is.
Emily: Did you know someone named Eileen Lin?
David: ... Why are you asking about her?
Emily: Just answer me if you can.
David: Yes. I knew her.
Emily: She had a daughter.
David: …
Emily: You know that, right?
David: …
Emily: You left when she was one year old.
David: .....and you are...?
Emily: That daughter is me.
David: …
Emily: You knew I existed.
David: Yes.
Emily: And you never came.
David: …
Emily: Thirty-five years.
David: Emily....I-(被打断)
Emily: Don't say my name like you've earned the right to.
David: I didn't know we would ever meet like this.
