Farewell at the Sea

故事背景：多年以前，Lia 爱上了摄影师 Ethan，却因他不愿承诺而错过。多年后，他们在邮轮上重逢，在无边的海上谈起往昔与别离。那一夜，是他们迟来的告别，也是未曾熄灭的爱情最后一次闪光。

Lia: I didn't think I'd ever see you again. Especially not here, of all places.

Ethan: The sea has a strange way of pulling people together. Maybe it remembers.

Lia: Or maybe it just enjoys playing with people. You always did love coincidences.

Ethan: And you always hated leaving things to chance.

Lia: That hasn't changed. You look the same though. Maybe a little more tired around the eyes.

Ethan: You look different. Softer, maybe. Or maybe I just forgot how to look at you.

Lia: That's probably it. You used to look at me like I was something you were afraid to touch.

Ethan: I was. I still am.

Lia: You shouldn't be. I stopped being dangerous a long time ago.

Ethan: I don't think so. You were never dangerous because of what you did. It was what you made me want.

Lia: And what was that?

Ethan: To stay. Which I never knew how to do.

Lia: No, you didn't. You were always halfway out the door, camera in hand, telling me you'd only be gone a few weeks. I used to count the days. Then I stopped counting.

Ethan: I thought leaving was what I had to do. I thought I was protecting you.

Lia: You weren't protecting me, Ethan. You were protecting yourself from having to choose.

Ethan: Maybe. But you deserved more than someone who didn't know what he wanted.

Lia: I didn't need more. I just needed you to stay once. Just once. Even if it wasn't forever.

Ethan: I wanted to. Every time I left, I told myself I'd come back.

Lia: And you did. Three years later.
