What a treat to glimpse the cosmos up close. Which is not to deny the inconveniences of space travel. There are bodily troubles.

And then there is anxiety of an altogether different order: when will I get back? Such is the plight of Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, two astronauts who have been stranded on the International Space Station (ISS) since docking there on June 6th.

What was meant to be an eight-day stay is approaching the three-month mark after their capsule leaked helium and five of its 28 thrusters malfunctioned. That has delayed their return, possibly until February 2025.
