Poirot : (loud; angry) No!! Lieutenant, you LIE to Poirot! You say that you were in the barracks by midnight. But Poirot has proved this to be false! At a quarter to 1:00 in the morning, you were seen over two miles away in the company of the woman who died! General, this is not a murder, as is suggested by the Palestinian police.But I do believe that the lieutenant lied about his whereabouts. First, out of panic. And then by sticking to this lie, by reinforcing it with lie after lie, through weeks and weeks of deception, he has heaped suspicion and the deep shame on himself, his regiment, and his wife. General, the neck of this woman was not broken by the human hand but by a fall. You see here where her neck, [soldier入]  it is broken in not one but two places...!!!

Soldier : [her neck 后接] Put it down! No,put...

Poirot : (nod)

Soldier : (hesitate) ...If I may speak out of turn, sir... I think it unjust that one mistake cost Lieutenant Morris so dearly. He was a good man who was involved in an accident.

Poirot: Unjust? 

Soldier: He made an error of judgment. He was a good man.

Poirot: It did not have to end in suicide.

Soldier: I think he believed he had no choice.

Poirot: Oh. A man like your friend, lieutenant, always has choice. And it was his choice to lie that brought him into difficulty with the law.

Debenham: What a funny little man.

Colonel: Obviously a frog.

Poirot: I travel from Palestine to London.

Waiter : (to Poirot) Monsieur. I am sorry. This evening the Calais coach on the Orient Express is fully booked.

Mr. Bouc: What? In December?

Poirot: I think I will have to travel tomorrow then.

Mr. Bouc: No, no, no. There will be a berth for you, Poirot. I am a director of the line, we'll arrange something.

Michel: Nummer acht (eight) . Hildegarde Schmidt, bitte.

Schmidt: Thank you.

Michel: And you are in number 14, Princess Dragomiroff.

Princess: Merci, Michel.

Michel : Je vous en prie (Please).

Mr. Bouc: Eh, Michel!

Michel: Bonsoir, Mr. Bouc.

Mr. Bouc: It's such a pleasure to see you again. I hear you are full up tonight.

Michel: Yeah, it's incredible. The train is fully booked. The whole world elects to travel tonight.

Mr. Bouc: Well, this gentleman here is a personal friend, and he can have the number 16.

Michel: But the first class is fully booked. Even what is held back. You're in number one, of course, but I'm afraid I...

Debenham : [4:04 高跟鞋后] Sorry. Good evening. Here is my ticket.

Michel: Thank you, ma'am. Number 11, Miss Debenham.

Debenham: Thank you. 

Mr. Bouc: This is Hercule Poirot, you know. The famous Hercule Poirot.

Michel: The Hercule Poirot?

Mr. Bouc: Yes. And the company will not allow him to travel with the luggage!!! At Belgrade tomorrow, there will be an extra coach from Athens which is likely to be half empty. So I can move compartment then. The only problem is with tonight. Is there no second-class berth free?

Ohlsson : [4:46 拖动行李 后] Am I not too late, am I?

Michel: No, madame.

Ohlsson: It's just my connection was delayed because of snow on the Taurus Express. The snow is getting hard from the east.

Michel: Miss Ohlsson, you are in berth 10.

Ohlsson: Thank you. I always kiss my St. Christopher. I kiss for you too, monsieur.

Mr. Bouc : (glance Michel's list) This Mr. Harris is not checked in.

Michel: In berth seven? No, not yet.

Mrs. Hubbard: He's a friend of mine.

Mr. Bouc: Well, it's too late, madame. The barrier will be closed.

Mrs. Hubbard: But who are you to commandeer Mr. Harris's berth? I'm sure he'll be arriving very shortly. He's just a little delayed.

Mr. Bouc: Yes, I am the director of the Wagon-Lit Company, madame. That is just who I am.

Mrs. Hubbard: But he's paid your company for a ticket, monsieur. That should be respected. 

Mr. Bouc: Absolutely. And he will be able to transfer it without extra cost.

Michel: Sorry, Mrs. Hubbard. We should get in.

Mrs. Hubbard : (cannot get over it) This is a scandal. That's what it is.

Mr. Bouc: No, a scandal would be if your friend were here, and I didn't let him on.

Mr. Bouc: There is no other berth on the train, so Monsieur Poirot has to come in here.
